Elton John & David Furnish Tie The Knot In England (Photos)

It’s official – nine years after Elton John and David Furnish entered into a civil partnership, they are legally married.

The longtime couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in England on Sunday morning. (Gay marriage became legal there in March.)

Elton joined Instagram for the happy occasion, his first post an invite to the couple’s wedding.

“Please join us this Sunday @DavidFurnish and I will be posting special moments from our big day. #ShareTheLove #EltonJohn #DavidFurnish,” he captioned the pic posted on Saturday.

The singer posted fun snaps from the wedding weekend on Sunday morning, including a shot of the couple’s sons’ tiny shoes.

“Our little ring bearers are fast asleep, and their shoes are polished and ready for tomorrow’s celebration,” Elton captioned a photo of Zachary and Elijah’s black shoes.

Elton, 67, also posted shots of he and David signing the marriage license, the ceremony, the reception setup, the couple holding hands during their vows, and a shot of their lavish floral arrangements.

“The tables look stunning! We had red roses at our Civil Partnership 9 years ago and they brought us so much luck. #ShareTheLove,” he captioned the pic.

David, 52, announced in March that he and Elton would officially get married given the new law.

“We don’t feel the need to take an extra step legally,” he told “The Las Vegas Review Journal.” “But since we’re committed for life, we feel it’s really important to take that step, and take advantage of that amazing change in legislation. We all live by example.”
