Emma Stone Responds To Teenage Fan’s ‘La La Land’-Inspired ‘Promposal’

Emma Stone
apparently couldn’t ignore one special fan’s recent invitation.

In an
appearance on Friday’s “Good Morning America,” the Arizona student
who produced an epic “promposal” video for Emma said the Oscar winner
gave him a sweet response.

During his
interview, Jacob Staudenmaier read a letter he said Emma sent him after seeing
his now-viral clip in which he reenacted the opening scene from “La La
Land” to ask her to his high school prom.

“Thanks for making the greatest proposal I’ve ever received,” Jacob read on-air. “I can’t tell you what an honor that was and how much I smiled through that entire beautifully orchestrated video. I’m in London working, but I hope you have the best time at prom, and I’m grateful you thought of me. Thank you.”

As an aspiring filmmaker, Jacob told the “GMA” hosts he knew he had to be “big and ambitious” with the project to not only capture Emma’s attention, but also top a predecessor.

Jacob explained that he’d first been inspired after an older classmate asked Miley Cyrus to prom three years earlier. However, his own fandom for Emma had a lot to do with it, too.

The teen revealed that after three viewings of “La La Land” and seeing Emma “absolutely killing it” in the acclaimed hit musical, he knew his mission was clear.

But, there’s also another connection between the two.

“Especially knowing that she’s from Arizona, I thought it just would be a perfect idea,” Jacob added.

As for lookalike comparisons between Jacob and Emma’s “La La Land” co-star Ryan Gosling, Jacob said the actress gave that a shout-out in her note as well.

“And she added, ‘P.S. I do see Gosling around the eyes. Love, Emma,'” Jacob said.

Despite Emma’s good-natured decline, Jacob said during his “GMA” segment that he’s still planning to have a blast at the dance with his pals.
