Evan Rachel Wood Slams Michelle Rodriguez Hookup Rumors: ‘Journalism At Its Lowest’

Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell announced they had separated on Wednesday, and by Friday, rumors had already begun to link Evan to someone else – “Fast & Furious” actress Michelle Rodriguez.

Evan broke her self-imposed Twitter break to slam the gossip.

“Looks like someone is already trying to start a rumor that I ‘hooked up’ with Michelle Rodriguez at ‘An Evening with Women’– I have never even said ‘hello’ to Michelle Rodriguez,” she Tweeted on Friday (referencing an LA Gay & Lesbian Center event both she and Michelle attended in Beverly Hills, Calif., on May 10). “I think it’s convenient someone chose to make up the story now and not that night.”

The former “True Blood” star then Tweeted a link to a paparazzi video of herself leaving the event, and wrote, “If ‘a source’ saw us leave together, why am I seen here leaving alone?”

The 26-year-old actress said having these rumors pop up as her marriage crumbled was painful.

“This is ‘journalism’ at its lowest. Complete lies made up to exploit a public separation, as if that isn’t hard enough,” she wrote. “Disgusting.”

Adding, “Also just because you are in a photo with someone doesn’t mean you spoke or slept together. Really guys? Ok back to my twitter break.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Evan and Jamie, 28, announced their separation this week after less than two years of marriage.

The couple tied the knot in October 2012. (They previously dated in 2005 after starring together in the video for Green Day’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” and reconnected romantically in 2011.)

They welcomed a baby boy – whose named has yet to be revealed to the public – in July 2013.
