Expendables 3: Harrison Ford In, Bruce Willis Out

It’s official – Harrison Ford is joining the “Expendables.”

The star will join the cast of the upcoming “Expendables 3,” his rep confirmed to Access Hollywood on Tuesday.

While Ford is in, Bruce Willis will not be returning to the action franchise, according to one of his co-stars.

Sylvester Stallone Tweeted the announcement on Tuesday, writing, “WILLIS OUT… HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!”

Moments after posting the Tweet, Stallone posted another message, stating, “GREEDY AND LAZY …… A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE,” with no further explanation.

In speaking with Access, Ford’s rep clarified that the “Star Wars” star will not be taking over Willis’ same role.

The casting rumors around the film’s third installment have been flying.

Besides Ford, other notable names to have been mentioned as potentially joining the cast include Clint Eastwood and Wesley Snipes. Producer Avi Lerner previously announced Nicolas Cage was also on board.

No word yet if any other past/current cast members are out for the upcoming film.

“Expendables 2” starred Stallone, Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Terry Crews, Randy Couture and Liam Hemsworth.

The first “Expendables” film grossed over $274 million at the worldwide box office. The sequel trumped its predecessor, with a $300 million global haul.
