Faith Hill Reveals Her Secret To Aging Gracefully At Almost 50

Faith Hill has no
concerns about turning 50.

In a cover
interview for New Beauty magazine, the 49-year-old country superstar revealed
why she isn’t dreading the milestone birthday – or even giving it much thought
at all.

“I honestly
don’t pay attention to it,” she told the mag of aging, explaining that
she’s hoping to set an example for her three teenage daughters. “If I did,
my girls would notice and I don’t want that. It’s not a message I want them to
have.”

Instead, Faith said she’s all about embracing who you are at every point in life and making the most of the time we’re given.

“The secret is being confident – with your age, with yourself,” she said. “Life is so precious. We only have one; what’s the point of stressing about all of that?”

Faith went on to acknowledge that she does notice the pressures and unrealistic expectations facing today’s young women, especially in the digital landscape. The singer told the mag how she and husband Tim McGraw combat those challenges at home by promoting fulfillment beyond what’s skin deep.

“Social media can be so cruel, but we’ve always emphasized the importance of having a realistic take and a healthy view regarding beauty to our girls. They know it’s not just on the outside,” she said. “It’s really important to us to teach them that beauty is on the inside. People can see your heart by the expressions on your face and by the way you carry yourself – they can see your happiness.”

When it comes to her own happiness, Faith doesn’t mind having a permanent reminder – even on her face. According to the mag, the singer said she’s proud to show off evidence of a life well-lived.

“I’m okay with having lines,” she said. “I’m almost 50. I want people to know I’ve smiled a lot!”
