FBI, LAPD Dispel Rumors Over Alleged Hit On Kevin Federline

Although Internet reports have surfaced suggesting the FBI and LAPD are investigating a possible hit on Kevin Federline’s life, that is not the case, a rep for the LAPD tells Access Hollywood.

“We do not have any current investigation regarding an alleged hit on Kevin Federline,” the rep told Access.

In addition, Special Agent Kenneth Smith, the Media Spokesperson for the FBI’s LA Field Office also dispelled the rumors the FBI was looking into a hit ordered on Kevin.

“I don’t know where that information came from. It is not accurate. And it did not come from the FBI,” Smith told Access.

However, a second source from the FBI confirmed authorities did receive some information about the matter, which they looked in to and deemed not credible.

” The FBI did receive non-specific uncorroborated information in this matter. And although credibility (of the information) was low and because there was no federal jurisdiction, out of an abundance of caution the FBI did share info with local authorities. Those authorities did not find the information to be credible,” Laura Eimiller of the FBI told Access.

Meanwhile, a major custody hearing is happening in an LA courtroom between lawyers for Britney Spears and Kevin Federline.

The courtroom has been closed because it is a family court hearing over custody of the former couple’s two children – Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Attorney Gloria Allred is not a lawyer for either parent, but she represents a one-time Spears bodyguard who was also present on Monday.

Access has identified the bodyguard as Tony Barretto.

Barretto, who was not called to testify, was reportedly there out of concern for the well being of the children. The 28-year-old Barretto is married and has children of his own.

He began working with Britney in March, however, claims he was fired when he didn’t hear the pop star ask him to pick up her hat.

Access’ reporters on the scene have learned that not long after the hearing opened this morning, both sides were escorted by the Sheriff’s Department to a secure location for privacy to discuss some “serious” issues. They were brought back just after 11AM, Pacific.
