Felicity Huffman, Nic Cage To Honor Oceanic Efforts

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (October 23, 2006) ? Felicity Huffman, Nicolas Cage and Jamie Lee Curtis are just a few of the stars who will be on hand November 9 to honor Pierce Brosnan, James Cameron and many more at the Oceana Partners Award Gala at The Esquire House 360º in Beverly Hills, it was announced Monday.

Among the others to be honored will be Stephen McPherson, President of ABC Entertainment, Annett Wolf, President of Wolf-Kasteler-Van Iden & Associates and Keely Shaye Smith, Ocean Activist.

In addition to the awards presentation, there will also be a live and silent auction featuring a 2007 Lexus GS 450h Hybrid, a James Perse celebrity-signed surfboard, a Morgane Le Fay Gown and a walk-on role on the new ABC comedy “Help Me Help You.”

The American Ocean’s Campaign (AOC), which was founded in 1987 by Ted Danson, now part of Oceana, is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the world’s oceans.

Each year, AOC and now Oceana has held events in Los Angeles including the Partners Awards Galas which have honored individuals who have made outstanding contributions through their personal commitment to the cause of protecting our oceans.

Past Partners Awards honorees include Former President Bill Clinton, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Woody Harrelson, Ted Turner and Christopher Reeve.

The host committee of the 2006 Partners Award Gala includes Nicolas Cage, Felicity Huffman, Ashley Judd, Debra Messing, Tea Leoni, Ashley Olsen, Mary Kate Olsen, Ted Danson & Mary Steenburgen, Thomas Haden Church, Robert Redford, Jason Priestley, Tom Selleck, Cheryl & Ron Howard and many more.

In the past five years, Oceana has succeeded in convincing the second biggest cruise line in the world to commit to installing advanced wastewater treatment systems, convinced the European Union to impose penalties on chronic oil polluters that could take over 20 million gallons of oil and oily water out of our oceans, and has helped to convince the biggest mercury polluters in the country to move away from mercury emitting processes.

Meanwhile, The Esquire House 360º is the ultimate bachelor pad, a 17,000 square-foot Italian villa in Beverly Hills located on three acres of land with sprawling lawns and 360-degree views.

The House defines modern luxury and sustains Esquire’s “Signature Space” concept – the transformation of a remarkable physical space into the epitome of 21st Century living. The Esquire House 360º will host a series of exclusive celebrity/charity events through December.

The House is the fourth “Signature Space” in as many years, and the second property Esquire has created in Los Angeles (the previous LA incarnation was the Esquire House Los Angeles in 2004).
