Fergie on Josh Duhamel: ‘We’re Practically Married’

Fergie, always outlandish and
outspoken, sat down with Blender magazine, where she dished on boyfriend Josh
Duhamel, her critics, andon a particularly embarrassing on-stage moment.

Fergie, also referred to as “Fergs” and “Sugarbooty” by boyfriend Duhamel,
has been named Blender’s “Woman of the Year,” in the January/February issue, an
honor which caused the singer to get emotional.

“It feels like such an accomplishment, I’ve been working in this industry
since I was 7, and I’m finally being commended for those years. And – (sniffles)
I can’t believe you made me cry. I’m so embarrassed. And I’m f*cking up my
eyeliner,” Fergie told Blender.

In the interview, Fergie also tackleda 2005 incident whereshe was capturedin
photos, with the front of her trousers, stained wet.

“[I] had to go straight onstage after being late from a show, then jumped up
and down while singing. I was late, so I didn’t go to the restroom before I went
onstage. It was horrible. But, whatever. It happened,” the singer told the
magazine.

Regardless of the amount of publicity generated by the incidentFergiesaid she
tries too keep her sense of humor about life, evenduring some of her darker
moments.

“It’s like there’s one or two things the public knows about every famous
person. With Ashlee Simpson, everyone knows she had a nosejob. With me, everyone
knows I wet my pants onstage and had a crystal-meth addiction; that sucks. You
have to laugh.” Said Fergie.

Another topic Fergie took on in the interview — her over the top and often
sexually-charged songs.

“Those songs are about my persona, the larger-than-life Fergalicious,” she
told the magazine. “It’s a part of me, but expanded. It’s very sexual, and Iam a
very sexual person, behind closed doors. I am a freak. That’s the part of my
personality I’m playing with in those songs: flirty, sexual, but not
promiscuous. I’m basically a tease– take it or leave it.”

Someone who might know the Fergalicious side of Fergie is boyfriend Josh
Duhamel. The couple met in September 2004.

“We’re practically married, anyway,” Fergie told Bender. “I’m madly
in love with him. He understands how to treat a woman and give me respect.”

In related Fergie news, the singer is slated to appear on Michael Jackson’s
25th Anniversary Edition of “Thriller,” where she’ll put the Fergalicious touch
on a new remix of “Beat It.”
