Fifty Shades: Jamie Dornan Had ‘Really Good’ Test Read For Film

Thanks to his role as Sheriff Graham on “Once Upon a Time,” we know Jamie Dornan knows his way around a pair of handcuffs. But is he the right man to play Christian Grey?

According to E! News, the Irish actor, 31, is at the top of the list to play the steamy lead role in “Fifty Shades of Grey,” and had a successful test read on Friday.

“He had a really good read today,” a source told the website on Friday night, Jamie’s “Fifty Shades” progress.

When asked about Jamie’s chemistry with Dakota Johnson (who has been cast as Anastasia Steele for the E L James’ adapted film), the source said, “The studio isn’t worried about Dakota.”

“They think she could handle whoever the guy is,” the source added.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, following Charlie Hunnam’s surprising exit from the film, a slew of Hollywood’s hottest young actors have been tossed around for the S&M-loving billionaire role.

In addition to Jamie, the latest contenders include Billy Magnussen – who has been cast in HBO’s “The Money” – and Luke Bracey from “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” fame.

Other names reportedly in the mix include Francois Arnaud, Christian Cooke, and Alexander Skarsgard.

The “Fifty Shades of Grey” film is set to hit U.S. theaters in August 2014 and will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
