Fifty Shades Of Grey Cast Won’t Be Announced At Comic-Con

Despite the rumors, the cast of the highly-anticipated film “Fifty Shades of Grey,” based on the book by E L James, will not be revealed at Comic-Con

“I dunno where this rumour started that the cast would be revealed at Comic Con…but it is just that – a rumour,” James Tweeted on Monday, adding, “(Sighs).”

Fans are eagerly awaiting casting news for the project after weeks of announcements that confirmed the film’s director – “Nowhere Boy’s” Sam Taylor-Johnson – and the movie’s release date – August 1, 2014.

A host of names have been bandied about for the lead roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, but most of them – like “Arrow” star Stephen Amell and Emma Watson – didn’t work out, or were just rumors.

“I didn’t find [Christian’s] character to be totally redeeming,” Stephen previously told Access Hollywood about the Christian role. “And I actually didn’t find him to be that interesting.”

“Harry Potter” alum-turned-indie-film darling Emma, also shot down rumors she could be Anastasia.

“Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life,” she Tweeted back in March.
