‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Stars React To Rabid Fan Response

“Fifty Shades of Grey” fans were treated to an advance screening on Friday in New York City and its stars reacted to the warm reception the film received.

Dakota Johnson – who plays Anastasia Steele – told Access Hollywood she is glad the wait for the much-anticipated movie is over.

“It’s so relieving. I just hope that they enjoy the film and I know I’ve been waiting for so long and I know they’ve been waiting for so long and we’ve been working on this for so long and now it’s just so nice to let it go,” the actress told Access.

Dakota also told Access she was blown away by the way fans greeted her when she entered the theater on Friday.

“It’s so crazy. Walking into that theater this morning was so nuts,” she recalled. “I’ve not ever been involved in anything like that, but it was so exciting to see how excited the fans were. I love that.”

Jamie Dornan – who plays Christian Grey – told Access that the fans gave him a boost of energy.

“It feels like kinda mad this morning. It was a little bit crazy walking into that theater,” he told Access. “It was like just feeling that energy they have and that excitement. It’s given us a bit of a lift this morning.”

Author E.L. James told Access she was floored by the overwhelming positive response she drew from the crowd.

“Oh my God, oh my God, everyone stood up and… just cheered and what have you and I just burst into tears,” she gasped.

E.L. also explained the pressure she felt to satisfy the book’s readers with the big screen adaptation of the story.

“It’s a huge feeling and it’s a huge responsibility because I want it to measure up to fan expectation and that’s been my worry along the whole thing and I think we got there in the end,” she confessed to Access.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” opens in theaters on Valentine’s Day.
