Financial Woes Force Scissor Sisters To Cancel European Mainland Tour

Glam pop band Scissor Sisters says it is canceling tour dates in Europe due to “funding issues.”

The New York-based quintet says it “has become impossible to make the tour work financially.”

The band said in a statement posted on its website Monday that it was “very disappointed, but it is beyond anyone’s control.” The band didn’t elaborate.

Refunds will be made for the nine shows in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Italy. Their gigs in Britain are not affected.

The Scissor Sisters have become international stars with millions of records sold. Their debut album was released in 2004 and sold over 2.5 million copies, making it the biggest-selling album of the year.
