The first photo from “Iron Man 2” has been revealed.
In a still image released by Paramount, Robert Downey Jr. is seen in character as billionaire industrialist Tony Stark, working in his lab and surrounded by suits of Iron Man armor.
The sequel to the 2008 superhero blockbuster is currently in production and slated for a May 2010 release, but fans won’t have to wait that long to learn about Tony’s future exploits.
Director Jon Favreau has been providing fans with updates from the set on his Twitter account, Tweeting cryptically on Friday, “Two suits on the set today,” potentially referring to Don Cheadle as James Rhodes joining Tony in Iron Man armor.
In the “Iron Man” comic books, “Rhodey” takes on a suit of his own to become the superhero War Machine.
In another recent post, Jon Tweeted, “Shooting in the workshop with Rhodey and Tony.”
