‘Footloose’ Reboot Star Kenny Wormald Dishes On Locking Lips With Julianne Hough; Did Ryan Seacrest ‘Threaten’ Him?

Dancer/actor Kenny Wormald is the new Ren McCormack in the upcoming “Footloose” reboot and along with his starring role came the responsibility of locking lips with his onscreen love, Julianne Hough – a feat that could’ve been a bit awkward when Julianne’s boyfriend, Ryan Seacrest, popped over to the set to visit his ladylove.

“[Ryan] was very cool, very nice,” Kenny told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Access Hollywood Live on Wednesday. “[He was] dressed very sharp — looked like a gentleman.

“He didn’t threaten or anything, which was cool,” the fresh-faced actor added with a laugh.

Kenny, 26, who previously starred in MTV’s Jennifer Lopez-helmed reality series, “Dancelife,” faced stiff competition for the role as “Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford and Zac Efron were at one time attached to the classic remake.

“I’m obviously glad that it’s me,” Kenny said. “And I come from a dance background so I think I’ll do it justice… I’ve been dancing since I was 6, so the dance part was definitely natural for me.

“They didn’t have to use a double or anything,” he continued, grinning. “It’s pretty cool.”

As for Kevin Bacon – the original Ren in the 1984 blockbuster – Kenny said he hopes to make the veteran actor proud.

“I hope he enjoys the film, “ Kenny said. “I’m just excited for him to see it”

See Kenny and Julianne bust a move – along with Dennis Quaid – when “Footloose” hits theaters on October 14.
