Former “American Idol” contestant Chikezie Eze has been arrested, Access Hollywood has confirmed through the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Web site.
According to TMZ, who had details of the arrest, the singer who placed tenth on the seventh season of the hit FOX reality singing competition, was arrested for felony identity theft on Thursday night in Beverly Hills.
He reportedly attempted to use “fraudulent means” for a purchase at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills, law enforcement sources told the Web site.
He was reportedly detained by Neiman Marcus security at the counter while attempting to make the purchase and then arrested by the Beverly Hills police.
He is currently being held on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 1.
