Michael Galeota, a former
Disney Channel star, has died, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
Galeota, 31, was best known for his
role as Nick in Disney Channel’s “The Jersey,” which ran from 1999 –
2004.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Country coroner’s office confirmed Galeota was “discovered deceased at his home and his autopsy is in progress.”
His other acting credits
included roles in “Ally McBeal,” “ER” and
“Profiler.” He also appeared in the 1995 big screen comedy
“Bushwhacked.”
A spokesperson for The Disney Channel issued the following
statement to Access Hollywood, following the news of Galeota’s death:
“Michael Galeota brought tremendous warmth to his work
on over 60 episodes of ‘The Jersey,’ and became one of the first stars of a new
era for Disney Channel. We offer our thoughts and condolences to his
family and friends during this difficult time.”

The cororner’s office also told Access that they have “not ruled cause of death yet” though it is believed to be of natural causes.
