Former ‘Prison Break’ Star Lane Garrison Jailed For 90 Days

Former “Prison Break” actor Lane Garrison may have gotten a break in court.

Beverly Hills Court Judge Elden S. Fox ordered the actor to the custody of the Sherriff’s Department for 90 days. During that time, City News Service reports, Garrison will be evaluated by psychologists and custodial officers.

“The fact that you may have some notoriety, I don’t really care,” TMZ quoted Judge Fox telling Garrison. “We don’t have all the information. I intend to remand Mr. Garrison today to the Department of Corrections for diagnostics.”

The Judge set a follow up court date for the actor on October 31, for sentencing.

Garrison plead guilty to a host of charges including vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence this past May. Other charges the actor also plead guilty to included driving under the influence of alcohol and one misdemeanor count of providing alcohol to a minor.

Garrison’s sentence stems from a December 2, 2006 incident where 17-year-old Vahagn Setian was killed when the Land Rover the actor was driving after a late night out, hit a tree. The actor had a blood-alcohol content of .20 percent during the crash according to the police.

Garrison was originally accused of a felony charge of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, two felony DUI counts and a misdemeanor count of furnishing alcohol to a minor.

In court, Garrison expressed his sadness over what happened.

“I relive that night every day, and I think about the bad decision I made that day. All I can say to you is, I’m so sorry,” he said.

The victim’s father however was not convinced, telling the judge his son died “not by an accident, but by the reckless action” of the actor.

“In mere seconds, our hearts and our souls were ripped apart,” the AP quotes Vahagn’s father, Karen Setian as saying.

The star, who once lived with the Jessica and Ashlee Simpson family during his youth, faces a maximum of six years and eight months of incarceration.

Judge Fox previously handled Winona Ryder’s shoplifting case and Courtney Love’s drugs charges, before her case was transferred downtown.
