Fred Savage Reveals What Kevin From ‘Wonder Years’ Would Be Doing 25 Years Later

Audiences fell in love with Fred Savage 25 years ago as Kevin Arnold on “The Wonder Years,” but what does the actor-turned-director/producer think his character would be doing all these years later?

AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman caught up with Fred on the set of his new series, “Best Friends Forever” – which he is producing and directing – where he revealed what profession Kevin might have gone into.

“I feel like Kevin, he was such an observer of things, he must be like some kind of writer or something. That’s what I kind of always thought,” Fred, 35, said. “He’s a writer or an educator.”

The former child star believes his character might have even gone into a similar field as his own.

“He was such a keen observer and so heartfelt and so thoughtful about things,” he continued. “He’s probably like, on a TV staff somewhere. He’s writing a pilot.”

As for Fred himself, he’s very happy to have successfully transitioned into behind the camera work, lending his directing skills to shows like “Modern Family,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” Happy Endings” and “Party Down.”

“I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to be doing, ever since I was a little kid… to be directing, shooting and producing television shows,” he explained.

NBC has yet to announce when “Best Friends Forever” will air, possibly this spring.
