A day after Lance Bass publicly declared that he was gay, Hollywood is offering plenty of support, especially from his best friends.When he came out, Lance said that one of the reasons he waited so long was to avoid taking any of the attention away from his ?NSYNC bandmates. And now, the guys are showing Lance the love.
?Lance is one of my great friends. I wish him all the happiness in the world,? Justin Timberlake said.
?He is family and I support him unconditionally,? JC Chasez said.
?I back him up 100 percent,? Joey Fatone said proudly of his friend.
However, Lance?s revealing announcement to People magazine was actually old news to close friend Kathy Griffin.
?I’ve known that Lance was gay forever, it’s no big deal,? Kathy said. ?He had really been hounded quite a bit and, you know, he’s in a relationship and he wanted to be able to go hangout with this person and not be running from bloggers.?
Lance is actually a frequent guest on Kathy?s Emmy-nominated Bravo show ?My Life On The D-List.?
?He’s no stranger to my ‘game night’ and I?m no stranger to his barbeque,? Kathy added. ?I know it?s really important to Lance to reach out to the gay community because he also has many heterosexual friends. I know it?s important to him to keep that mix going.?
Opening up about his homosexuality, Lance ended months of speculation that he and ?Amazing Race? star Reichen Lehmkuhl were an item.
?I want to keep this about Lance. I really want to thank you for being concerned. It’s awesome to have the support,? Reichen told Access Hollywood on Thursday.
And there was even more support from Lance?s Hollywood friends, including Scarlett Johansson and Brittany Murphy.
?I don?t care what his sexual preference is,? Brittany told Access from the ?Talladega Nights? red carpet. ?He is a sweetheart and is so talented.?
?Do you feel that people put pressure on people to stay?? Maria Menounos started to ask Brittany.
?Straight?? the actress laughed.
?Hidden,? Maria finished.
?I think that he is a human being and it?s wonderful that he is able to feel free with in himself and live his life the way that he wants to,? Brittany added.
Meanwhile at the ?Scoop? premiere, Scarlett expressed joy for Lance.
?I’m really happy for him. Hopefully it?s not something that requires too much bravery. Hopefully there’s not a stigma about announcing your lifestyle and your preference,? Scarlett contends.
