WinterIsComing.net was first to report the news after Aaron Williamson, an actor and fitness pro, posted a picture on Instagram of Michiel working out for the show.

“1 more week w/ Michiel Huisman getting him ready to kick ass on Game of Thrones. Proud of this guy’s dedication; huge transformation from his Treme days.#MichielHuisman #GameOfThrones #Treme#WorldWarZ #HBO #FitnessMeetsFilm,” he wrote to accompany the pic.

Michiel most recently starred as Liam, a record producer who became romantically involved with Connie Britton’s Rayna James on “Nashville.” The two had a romantic connection, but she skipped out on their planned international lover’s trip to reconnect with her old flame Deacon (Charles Esten).

“Game of Thrones” returns to HBO in 2014.
