According to People, the actress – who plays the stellar villain Cersei Lannister on the hit HBO series – had filed for divorce from musician Peter Loughran.

The actress reportedly filed on July 20.

The 38-year-old cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

The couple wed in May 2007 and has been separated since 2011.

Headey is reportedly asking for joint legal and physical custody of their 2-year-old son, Wylie.

“Game of Thrones” returns March 31, 2013 on HBO.
