‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Premiere Date Announced

“Game of Thrones” will return this April on HBO.

On Thursday, at the HBO portion of the Television Critics Association Winter Tour, the cable network announced that Season 6 will premiere on April 24.

The evening kicks off with “Thrones” at 9 PM ET/PT, followed by the Season 3 premiere of “Silicon Valley” and Season 5 premiere of “Veep.”

The “GoT” premiere date is later than in years past so HBO can wrap up the first season of its new drama, “Vinyl,” from executive producers Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Terence Winter. That series, set in 1970s New York, and starring Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano and more, premieres on February 14.
