Gary Coleman Suffered Intracranial Hemorrhage, On Life Support

Gary Coleman is unconscious and on life support two days after his hospitalization, his manager told Access Hollywood on Friday.

In a statement to Access, John Alcantar explained that Gary suffered “an intracranial hemorrhage” at his Utah home on Wednesday evening.

“As of mid morning on May 27, Mr. Coleman was conscious and lucid,” he said in the statement. “By early afternoon, Mr. Coleman was slipping in and out of consciousness and his condition worsened… We are saddened to announce that since mid afternoon, Mountain Time, on May 27, 2010, Mr. Coleman has been unconscious and on life support.”

He also denied reports that the star had undergone surgery for his condition.

A Utah Valley Regional Medical Center spokeswoman told Access earlier on Friday morning that there has not been any change in Coleman’s condition and he remains in a critical state, though she would not elaborate on the details.

On Thursday, a source close to Todd Bridges, Coleman’s “Diff’rent Strokes” co-star, told Access that Coleman’s wife, Shannon Price, said the star fell and had to be resuscitated.

The actor has had a number of health woes over the years, from needing a heart surgery to coping with childhood kidney disease, in addition to recent legal concerns. In February, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge related to a domestic violence incident with his wife.
