General Hospital: Kimberly McCullough Returning As Robin

Kimberly McCullough is heading back to ABC’s “General Hospital,” Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The actress, who has played Robin since she was a youngster, will be back on the show, however no airdate for her return was immediately available.

Earlier this month, Jason Thompson, who plays Patrick, Robin’s widower (he thinks she’s dead, but in fact, she’s being held against her will) told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman, he wanted to see Kimberly return.

“Selfishly, I hope that Kimberly comes back to play for a little while so we can kind of tell a little bit of a different story,” Jason said. “I think it’s been a little bit difficult for the fans to see her locked away being tortured and stuff like that, but, I think, on a whole, they’re very, very happy that she is still alive and that there’s definitely a story to tell.

Jason said that he knew fans would be excited to see Robin back on the show.

“We were together for about a good six, seven years on the show and we gained a nice little group of fans there so I think it’d be nice if she does come back,” he previously told Access.

Frank Valentini, the show’s executive producer, told Soap Opera Digest (which broke the news), that Robin’s return would not just be a tiny cameo appearance.

“Robin is such an important part of the history of ‘General Hospital.’ It will be so wonderful to see her come back and what that effect will have on the canvas,” he told the mag.
