George Clooney: It Was ‘Intimidating’ Approaching Amal

George Clooney may not have been looking for love, but he knew it when he found it.

In fact, George said it didn’t take him long once he met then-wife-to-be Amal Alamuddin to realize she was the one.

“I think about three days in, you could tell,” George told Access Hollywood’s Liz Hernandez in a new interview. “I mean, I knew when I met her that she was so extraordinary and special. And then I wondered if I’d ever get a chance to date her.

“Then, we became friends for a while before and then luckily, she said yes,” George smiled.

But did the former “Sexiest Man Alive” get intimidated about approaching his future bride at the time?

“Sure,” he admitted. “It’s always intimidating. [But] she’s an incredibly warm, wonderful person… I think everybody gets intimidated. That doesn’t change.”

While the “Tomorrowland” star may have been a bit tentative at first in approaching Amal, his wife – who is an international human rights attorney — doesn’t have the same problem when it comes to fitting in with the A-list crowd in Hollywood.

“Does she ever get nervous?” Liz asked George.

“She actually doesn’t, because when she works, people’s lives are on the line,” George explained. “So I think that ‘play land’ doesn’t intimidate her.”
