George Clooney On ‘Descendants’ Co-Star Shailene Woodley: She’ll Have ‘An Amazing Career’

George Clooney appears to have anointed his “The Descendants” co-star, Shailene Woodley, as the next actress to keep an eye on.

Access Hollywood caught with George at the premiere of his latest, where he enthusiastically gave his 20-year-old co-star his stamp of approval – after having a little bit of fun of course.

“I don’t like her. I didn’t really have to work with her. It was all green screen,” the actor joked when asked about Shailene, who plays his daughter in the Alexander Payne-directed movie.

All jokes aside, George had nothing but praise for the actress best known for her role on ABC Family’s “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”

“She’s something else. She’s a very special girl,” he told Access. “I think she’s going to have an amazing career.”

The actor, who is already getting Oscar buzz for his roles in “The Ides of March” and “The Descendants,” remained humble about any possible future accolades.

“It’s nice to have films that people like out there. It’s always fun to do that. It’s just exciting to have that,” George said. “I’ve been the front runner a couple of times and have lost. So I don’t ever listen… I really do enjoy movies. I really like being in them and I like seeing them, that’s all I really think about and worry about. The rest, I kind of let do its thing.”

“The Descendants” opens in theaters today.
