Give Your Confidence A Healthy Boost With A Short New ‘Do! (Healthy Hollywood)

It seems wearing your hair short not only switches up your style, but also gives your confidence a healthy boost!

“A short cut radiates timeless glamour, sophistication and power. A short cut can give women a fresh start to do something new and different with their hair,” states celebrity stylist Julien Farel, who also created his signature hair care line.

It might sound shallow to think a new cut can make you feel more confident. Yet, think about it. A fabulous outfit makes you feel simply fabulous. A new lipstick gives you some chic cachet. And, taking a risk by chopping off your hair will certainly make a statement of out with the old and in with the new and bold.

“When our hair looks good, it’s an instant confidence booster. A great haircut or style can turn heads and give women an aesthetic edge and “power cut” they’re looking for,” adds Julien.

Plus, a short cut will highlight the cheeks and make eyes standout and it’s certainly easy for busy women to just wash ‘n go.

But, not all hair textures can master the pixie.

“For women with fine hair, short cuts help to add body. I like to keep curly, frizz-prone hair long and layered as I think curly hair acts best long. With thick hair, you have the option of styling short, medium or long. The key to this, however, is adding lots of layers so the hair isn’t all one length and has some movement to it,” explains Julien.

To style a pixie, Julien suggests using a sculpting gloss, like his signature gloss, adding, “Product in key to nailing the short ‘do – whether the aim is sleek and styled or more of a messy tousled look. Apply a sculpting gloss to help create a textured, defined look; it also offers anti-aging benefits to keep hair hydrated and healthy, which is hard to find in most styling products. I then I like to use my fingers to work hair to a desired height and then set with hairspray.”
