Glam Slam: A Little Bit Country

Taylor Swift ditched her curls and went sleek and straight at last night’s ‘CMT Music Awards’. She looked adorable in her flirty burgundy brocade Galliano mini. I don’t know who dresses her, but she always gets it right.

Carrie Underwood was the big winner of the night taking home Video of the Year and CMT Performance of the Year honors. As for her red carpet style? Not so much! Her bright fuchsia Jenny Packham gown, embellished with black beading, was a rare style misstep for Carrie, who is normally impeccable in my opinion. Loved the color, hated the dress.

And bright color was a big theme. Julianne Hough sparkled in a ruched yellow mini with crystal and silver sequin beading by Georges Hobeika. We were with her as she tried on several options for fans to vote on and the dress they choose perfectly showed off her tan toned body.

Hayden Panettiere went with a bold teal and black lace one shoulder Pucci dress that I wasn’t a huge fan of. LeAnn Rimes wore a strapless bright blue ‘80s print Mara Hoffman mini. Cute for a So Cal poolside cocktail party, but way too casual for an award show. Her hair could have used a real style too.

Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott shimmered in classic black with her sexy beaded strapless mini. Faith Hill looked lovely in a floaty pale print J. Mendel gown. Erin Andrews was sleek in a curve hugging metallic Herve Leger mini.

The ‘Jersey Shore’ folks were there. Hmmm, not sure why. Naturally, Snooki sported the biggest hair of anyone on the carpet. And I got a big laugh when Mike “The Situation” and John Mayer lifted their shirts for an “ab off.” No competition there!
