Glam Slam: Angelina Jolie In The Spotlight

“I feel great. I feel wonderful and I’m very, very grateful for all the support. It’s meant a lot to me.”

That was a radiant Angelina Jolie on the red carpet in London last night at the premiere of Brad Pitt’s film “World War Z.”

Angelina made worldwide news again with her first public appearance since announcing that she had undergone a double mastectomy.

She looked lovely in an elegant black Yves St. Laurent gown with sheer panels and gathered top, but really the night was about her looking the picture of health…she was positively glowing.

Brad couldn’t rave enough about his lady.

“She’s heroic. She’s just, you know focused and intent on not letting anything get her down, taking it by the horns and taking control of it. Finding out her options, learning what her options are, and then sharing that knowledge with others. That’s just, she’s a hero to me…. I can’t say enough good things about her.”

Love her or hate her, Angelina has people talking. I just got back from vacation in Charleston, S.C., and heard some ladies at the next table talking all about her revelation, asking each other what they thought of her going public. (These conservative Southern ladies were all for it, BTW).

That just goes to show what Time magazine describes as “The Angelina Effect.” She has people discussing serious issues and not just idle gossip.

“I’ve been very happy just to see the discussion about women’s health expanded and that means the world for me and after losing my mom to these issues,” Angelina said. “I’m very grateful for it and I’m very moved by the kind support.”

Way to go Angelina!
