Glam Slam: Beyonce’s Cut Heard ‘Round The World!

By now, you’ve heard the “head”-lining making news — Beyonce cut her hair. The world-famous superstar is rocking a stylish pixie.

Queen B debuted her shockingly short hairdo in a series of Instagram snaps and her fierce style statement instantly fueled an Internet debate over whether Beyonce’s pixie is a hit or a miss.

Whether you like it or not, style insiders believe Beyonce’s new look could inspire women everywhere to go short.

“Beyonce’s new pixie is everything I love about a great hairstyle. It’s modern, versatile and uses lots of layers to create a fresh approach on a truly timeless look,” reveals award-winning New York City stylist Nunzio Saviano.

Mrs. Carter isn’t the first star to swap their signature long mane for a sassier shorter hairstyle. Miley Cyrus and Rihanna are both sporting a cropped pixie style. But, is this bold look for everyone?

“Anyone that has strong feminine facial features can pull off the Pixie. Someone that has strong cheekbones, a great smile, big eyes or full lips would look great in a Pixie,” adds Nunzio.

Nunzio says a short cut works well on most hair texture. Women with super curly hair can’t really do it unless it’s cut so short that the curls are cut out.

While, long hair would seem to offer more style options, think again! “Depending on the look you’re going for different product creates a different style effect. I like a finishing pomade, like Garnier Fructis Style Power Gel & Putty Mess Maker, for an out-of-bed, chic messy style that’s easily kept in place,” reveals Nunzio.

Or, for a more edgy style, like Miley or Rihanna’s Faux Hawk effect, try a gel that holds and lifts like Kerastase Lift Vertige Root-Uplifting Gel. “Apply a nickel sized amount of gel to the palms of the hands, rubbing together and then running hands through hair. Make sure to apply directly at the roots, lifting upwards. Blow dry with a small round brush to add height and root support.”
