How does she do it? How DOES she do it?
I am still in awe of Christie Brinkley and just how ageless she is. She hit the red carpet this week in honor of Sports Illustrated’s 50th Anniversary Swimsuit Issue and people in our office were going crazy about how amazing she looks. Just a reminder: She’s 60. And she looked half her age at the SI event, where she told us how the magazine helped her already successful career.
“Absolutely. I was doing really well with the women’s magazines and Sports Illustrated introduced me into the other half of the population and that kind of made a difference,” she laughs. “A big difference.”
Men love her. Women would kill to look like her. Much has been made about her age and how she looks so great. That body! Those legs! The skin! Those teeth! That hair! Oh yes, the hair. Christie admits she uses extensions, and her candidness makes me like her even more.
Christie spilled a couple of other beauty secrets too, telling us on the SI red carpet that she works at keeping her body in shape, saying it “greases the joints, you know, keeps them moving. And I’m working on a line of skin care that I’ve been using myself for quite some time and I think it’s amazing stuff. And it’s gonna be available in September or October.”
We’ll keep our eyes peeled for that. And just about anything else Christie does!
Now her daughter Sailor is following in mom’s modeling footsteps. “She’s actually in California right now on a shoot with Bruce Weber,” Christie tells us and goes on to say she doesn’t give her any tips!
“Actually you know I’m watching her and getting some tips from her,” laughs Christie.
Ah, yes. There’s that infectious Brinkley laugh. And maybe that’s the secret to her enduring looks. Being happy.
Of course, looking like a million bucks doesn’t hurt either.
