Glam Slam: DIY Beauty Fixes

Earlier this week I realized I had a big splotch on my leg from a self-tanning session gone wrong. How to fix a bad fake tan is just one thing that beauty guru Alexis Wolfer knows all about… think of her as a sort of female beauty MacGyver.

Here are some beauty fixes to help if you’re in a pinch, courtesy of Alexis, who is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the website, The Beauty Bean.

1. Apply a thin layer of Elmer’s Glue to your nose for a DIY blackhead removing strip. Just let it dry and peel it off like you likely did in elementary school.

2. Apply a thin layer of plain, full-fat Greek yogurt to a pimple or area of redness to reduce inflammation, gently exfoliate and hydrate.

3. Mix used coffee grounds with any oil (coconut oil is my favorite) for an exfoliating scrub that will not only leave your skin smooth, soft and shiny, but also will help to temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite.

4. If you run out of lip balm or are just looking for an all-natural DIY solution, use honey instead! It’s a great moisturizer and tastes great too!

5. When your self-tanner application goes awry (it happens to the best of us!), use a fresh lemon slice to rub the discolored areas and blend the uneven spots. This works especially great on elbows, knees and feet!
