Glam Slam: Fall Fashion Week – Hair Trends

If your “go to” summer ‘dos like beach waves and pony tails seem tired and stale, get ready for a more polished look this fall. Frederic Fekkai’s National Creative Director, Fabrice Gili, who has worked with Scarlett Johansson, Sigourney Weaver, Kristin Davis and Paris Hilton, as well as top models that include Naomi Campbell and Elle Macpherson, give us the low down on the five biggest hair trends for fall.

GO BIG
The first trend is the big ‘60s look; it is the comeback of the tease. The biggest difference from the ‘60s is that everything is loose and very natural, the best way is to put the hair upside down to achieve the maximum volume and apply Fekkai Full Blown Volume Styling Whip to the roots and blow dry the hair at the roots only, not touching the hair near the ends. Once dry, using a curling iron create soft curls to make big waves with the loose ends. Then tease the top at the crown, make sure leaving the front part flatter than the top and then putting the hair on both sides, flat as well, either flat down or away from the face attached with a rubber band or clip or any accessories you like. This look is great for Eva Mendes.

GO GLAM
Want a glamorous look, like Marilyn Monroe? Start by forming the part of the hair low on the side. The volume should be flat at the top with a nice wave on the front of the face. Then curl all the ends with a medium sized curling iron – then place your hair upside down and brush through the hair and place your hair into place using your fingers. This look is great for Megan Fox.

GO CHIC
A chic yet sophisticated trend is the bob. It should definitely be geometric and frame the face with heavy bangs. The bob has to be short, around the lips. This look can be seen on Halle Berry, she looks absolutely stunning on the September issue of Vogue.

GO FOR CHANGE
Scarlett Johansson has been sporting a magnificent medium length bob. There should be texture at the ends of the hair to create a lot of movement. The part should be in the middle of the hair, but not straight; to create the full effect the hair has to be messy. To achieve the messiness, use a big curling iron pulling the hair away from the scalp and just rolling it around.

GO SHORT
The short gypsy look is a great trend for fall. Add layers throughout the hair, short bangs and keep the side burns messy. This ‘do is also about bold color: your hair should be one shade; either all red, all blonde or all dark but must be a single process.
