Glam Slam: How To Rock 3 Summer Beauty Trends

Hope you are enjoying your summer — I’m ready to hit the road to visit family.

If you’re in need of a little hot weather beauty inspiration, celeb makeup artist and creator of LORAC, Carol Shaw, delivers three fun trends that are perfect for the season’s adventurous spirit.

Lupita: All About Eyes!

A colorful eye is on trend this season and one way to wear color on the eye is to use a solid swipe of strong color (blue, orange, fuchsia) in the crease following your natural eye shape. Lupita is gorgeous and can pull off any dramatic look, but for most of us, we want to go a bit more natural. You can use color and still look soft and subtle by using a smudge of wearable color such as Navy (blue eyes), Jade Green (green eyes), Plum (brown eyes) as liner along your top and bottom lases, or you can smudge the color eye shadow all over the lid for a modern smokey eye effect. I am loving my LORAC PRO Palette 2, it contains all the warm and cool toned eye shadows you need to create any look you desire! Pair a colorful eye with a soft nude lip, keeping the eyes the main focus.

Jennifer Lopez: Bronze Bombshell!

When showing a lot of skin it is definitely the trend to look toned and tan with a bronze glow from head-to-toe! Tan skin makes you look healthy and youthful, you even look thinner with a tan! To avoid the harmful effects of the sun, fake a warm sun-kissed look with LORAC’s TANtalizer Baked Bronzer, brush it on your cheeks, forehead, chin and tip of nose for a radiant glow. Use gold and bronze on your eyes and lips to compliment this warm look. My TANtalizer Body Bronzing Spray is perfect for a long-lasting, better-than-natural looking tan, it’s my must-have body bronzer on and off the Red Carpet!

Jessica Alba: Bold & Beautiful!

One of my favorite trends this season is a bold statement lip! A bold lip looks great on all skin tones and all ages and is the easiest way to look fresh and modern. Use a bold lipstick shade of your choice (Hot Pink, Ruby Red, Purple, Orange or Burgundy) and keep your eye makeup light with natural earth tone shadows, black eyeliner and a few coats of mascara for thick, lush lashes. Pair a bold lip with a soft natural eye, keeping the lips the main focus. Try my Alter Ego Lipsticks in Vixen, Pin Up, Goddess or Free Spirit to easily create a bold lip look.
