Glam Slam: Kerry Washington’s Springtime Style!

I’m starting to sound like a broken record when it comes to the stylish and stunning Kerry Washington. She wows again, this time at the 2013 Human Rights Campaign Los Angeles Gala. I love her headband – the perfect finishing touch to a gorgeous red carpet look. Here’s how you can go for her youthful hair style.

WHO: Celebrity stylist Marcus Francis

THE LOOK:
“Wanting to show off a neckline doesn’t always mean the hair must be worn up,” Marcus says. “I thought Kerry’s hair worn down behind her shoulders would keep it feeling effortless and young, going against the obvious updo choice. Adding a studded headband gave the look an edge and helped secure the volume.”

HOW TO:
Spray “Oribe Full Blow Out” from roots to ends to damp hair and dry with a medium size round brush.

With a 1 1/2” curling iron, start curling from the ends to the roots and pin each section. Continue the set throughout the hair, directing the hair on top to go back. Let the hair set for 15 minutes.

Brush out the hair with a bristle paddle brush and finish the ends with “Pantene Stylers All-in-One Styling Balm” curling under and flipping out so the hair doesn’t look too stiff.

Place a headband one inch from the hairline and tease a few sections behind it on both sides and at the crown. Lightly spray “L’Oreal Elnet” at the root before smoothing out.

Seal the look once perfected with “Oribe Super Fine hair spray.”
