Glam Slam: ‘Lucky’ Kids

It was a fun kids’ day at the Los Angeles launch party for the new Lucky Kids magazine thrown by Lucky Magazine and Target. Ashlee Simpson brought her son Bronx, Garcelle Beauvais was there with her twin boys and Soleil Moon Frye brought her kids, Poet and Jagger.

I took my 2-year-old daughter to the event held at a Hollywood Studio on Sunset Boulevard. Guests were ask to bring diapers or books to donate to children in need and in exchange, we got an afternoon of fun!

Kids got to get crafty customizing and decorating sock monkeys with feather boas, tutus and capes. There were giant inflatable balls for them to roll around in and a “graffiti wall” where they could color to their hearts content! They also got to customize t-shirts with cute iron-on decals.

There were photo ops with the Target mascot dog, which my daughter loved… he’s bigger than she is! But her favorite part had to be the kid-sized food table, which meant she had unlimited access to the yummy sliders and mac and cheese, but really went crazy over the mini-cupcakes and kept going back wanting to lick the icing off of them! “Rojo”, she said in Spanish talking about the red velvet minis. (Hmmm, I wonder where she got her cupcake obsession.)

The event also offered discount designer shopping with an entire room of kids’ clothes for sale, including stylish duds from Little Marc Jacobs and DKNY Kids. A portion of the proceeds benefited Baby Buggy, the nonprofit organization founded by Jessica Seinfeld, which helps provide families in need with clothing and products for infants and young children.

As for the new magazine, if you are a fan of Lucky, as I am, you will LOVE Lucky Kids. It’s hip and fun and you will want one of everything in it! Lucky Kids is on newsstands now.
