Glam Slam: Mad Bag Love

Meet the newest bag to make its way to my collection. It was love at first sight. I had been oogling this hip Alexander Wang “Kirsten” multi-strap suede bag for a few weeks.

Like a siren call… this bag practically shouted my name. It feels new, fresh, unique and I loved all the straps.

The downside? I wasn’t really in the market for a new bag… I am trying to save money and not spend as much on fashion. I’m also not completely in love with the idea of dark suede for Summer and the bag isn’t all that practical as far as fitting a lot of stuff in it. (I also had visions of klutzy me walking through a store or somewhere and one of the straps getting caught on something as I walk by and jerking me back- ha ha!). Still… there’s something attractive about it…

And so begins the dance… Go for it? Pass? Go for it? Pass?

The process of buying a bag is a little bit like dating someone new. You’re looking at an investment; you want to make sure it’s not a fleeting romance. When the honeymoon period passes will you still love the bag? That’s the question you have to ask yourself.

I didn’t want to make a rash impulse purchase and I was most concerned about the price, but I put together all of the gift cards I had gotten for Christmas and my birthday and that brought the price down quite a bit. That helped justify things a bit.

Every time I was in a store that had the bag, I would try it on… you know, seeing how the bag felt, how it looked. Kicking the tires, so to speak.

I needed to see if I wanted to take the relationship further and then I decided that yes, I did want to commit to this bag.

Whaddya think? A keeper? I don’t think I will be breaking up with this bag for a while. My other bags are jealous.
