Glam Slam: Makeup Mondays – Award Show Action

There was a lot of red carpet glamour going on this weekend at both the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2011 and the Academy of Country Music Awards.

Here’s how to get the looks of three star stunners.

TAYLOR SWIFT
WHERE: The ACM Awards
WHO: Celebrity Makeup Artist Lorrie Turk
THE INSPIRATION: Classic old Hollywood. She looked so beautiful in her dress with her natural look, we didn’t want to create anything too bold for her makeup, just complement the look nicely.

HOW TO:
I started with her foundation. I used COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation followed by COVERGIRL Classic Color Blush in Blush Rose on the apples of her cheeks for a fresh-faced glow. To create her winged eye, I used COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast Eyeliner in Black Fire and then swept COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-kit Shadow in Tapestry Taupe from the lash line to the crease, followed by COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-kit Shadow in Champagne on the brow bone and in the inner corners of her eyes for a subtle sparkle. I finished the eye with COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion Mascara in Black for lots of full, long lashes. On her lips, we wanted a nice rose color, so I applied COVERGIRL Lip Perfection lipstick in Soulmate. The look was overall timeless, but still fresh and young.

She took the lipstick with her in her purse for the night.

SELENA GOMEZ
WHERE: The Kids’ Choice Awards
WHO: Celebrity Makeup Artist Karan Mitchell
INSPIRATION: Selena’s look was fun and casual. Her Christian Cota outfit was all about Spring. We wanted to stay with soft watercolor shades for her makeup.

HOW TO:
I started with Selena’s eyes. I blended the COVERGIRL CG Smoother Concealer in medium on her eyelid with a soft sponge as a base for her shadow. I then applied the COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-kit in Pink Chiffon all over the lid and Knock Out Pink as a soft liner underneath the eye and in the inside corners for a soft sparkle. I then applied COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-kit in Brown Smolder to the crease, slightly extending the outside corners. I then finished the eye with COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast in Black Fire on the top as well as the outside edge of the bottom lashes. I then applied a few individual lashes and used two coats of the LashBlast Luxe Mascara in Black Platinum.

For her skin, I used COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Nutmeg. I am really using this foundation a lot because it is a lightweight formula that covers well. For concealer under the eyes I used the COVERGIRL CG Smoothers Concealer in Medium. To set the look I used COVERGIRL TRUblend Pressed Powder in Translucent Honey with a soft brush. I then applied COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Plumberry Glow to the apples of her cheeks.

For her lips I began with COVERGIRL Lip Perfection Lipliner in Splendid and then diffused the line with a lip brush. I finished the look with COVERGIRL Lip Perfection lipstick in Dazzle and COVERGIRL ShineBlast Lipgloss in Radiant.

SOFIA VERGARA
WHERE: The Kids’ Choice Awards
WHO: Celebrity Makeup Artist Leslie Lopez
INSPIRATION: Earlier that day we were at a photo shoot and the inspiration for her makeup was a modern day take on Sophia Loren and Raquel Welch; very sultry, sexy and sophisticated. I loved the look so much; we just toned it down a bit before she left for the awards show.

HOW TO:
For her skin, I applied a small amount of COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation to the cheeks, nose and forehead and then lightly blended it all over her face to even out her skin. I really like the lightweight feel, but it still gives great coverage. Next, I added COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Lush Berry to the apples of her cheeks for a natural glow.

For Sofia’s eyes, we wanted to do something sultry and smoky. I used COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Bronze Fire, the darker shade in the crease of the eye and blended out to accentuate her almond-shape eyes. I used the lighter shade on the center of the lid and in the inner corner of the eye. To intensify the look, I used COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast Eyeliner in Brown Blaze and blended up onto the lid. I finished her eyes with multiple coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Blasting Mascara concentrating on the ends of her lashes to draw them out.

On her lips, I used COVERGIRL Lip Perfection Lipstick in Rush for a brown/nude shade that complemented the look perfectly.
