Glam Slam: Makeup Mondays — Best Beauty Tips

I feel like I am surrounded by makeup all the time, granted it’s TV makeup, which is a whole different thing, but still, I somehow remain makeup-challenged!

The new People StyleWatch comes to the rescue with a whopping 50 of the best beauty tips. Holly Carter, Beauty Director for People StyleWatch, highlights her top 5 favorites.

Nourish skin with a banana peel:
After eating a banana, rub what’s left on the inside of the peel onto your face and leave it on for at least 10 minutes. It’s full of skin-softening minerals that will make your skin feel refreshed and soft.

Prevent frizz with paper towels:
When you get out of the shower, scrunch out excess water, then repeat using a few sheets of absorbent paper towels. This will eliminate some of the frizz caused by the roughness of cloth towels.

Always check your makeup in natural light:
It may sound basic, but it can really make a huge difference! You’ll avoid arriving to work with stripy blush or patchy foundation by blending or fixing mistakes before you leave the house. If you have a dim bathroom, just check yourself out with a compact by a window.

Get an easy smoky eye:
Just use eyeliner! Trace your eyes’ inner rims and outer corners with black pencil, then top it off with a creamy shimmery gray pencil. Blend and smudge with your fingertips and there you go!

Repair damaged hair while you sleep:
It’s the best (and most convenient!) time to give your hair some TLC. Try applying a pre-shampoo oil to dry hair (just focus on the ends) right before bed once a week. Then in the AM, just rinse, shampoo and condition. You’ll notice softer, shiner, healthier hair in about a month!
