Glam Slam: Makeup Mondays — Best Of The Best Oscar Beauty

The Oscars are still on my mind… I mean there was a nonstop parade of beautiful women and I’ve chosen my favorite.

HALLE BERRY’S SMOKY EYE:

WHO: Makeup Artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua

HOW: “We played up her eyes with warm browns instead of blacks, keeping them shimmery and soft edged while defining them by smoking them up and lining the inner eye. I used Revlon Luxurious Smoky eye pencil in Brown Smoky and Revlon CustomEyes Mascara in Black.”

SANDRA BULLOCK’S BRIGHT LIPS

WHO: Makeup Artist Angela Levin

HOW: “On her lips she wore CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Gabrielle. I applied it with a lip brush, then had Sandra rub her lips together and applied again with the brush, creating the look of a dark stain.”

GWYNETH PALTROW’S GLOW

WHO: Makeup Artist Leslie Lopez

HOW: “I prepped her skin with CHANEL Sublimage Essential Regenerating Cream, then used CHANEL Vitalumiere Fluide Makeup in Beige as a base and applied CHANEL Long Lasting Concealer in Beige Ivoire. To give a warmth to her skin, I used Soleil Tan De CHANEL in Terre Ambre. On the apples of her cheeks, I used CHANEL Tweed Blush Duo in Tweed Fuchsia.”

HILARY SWANK’S SILVER STREAK

WHO: Makeup Artist Monika Blunder

HOW: “I wanted to really play up Hilary’s eyes and I used her gorgeous Gucci Premiere couture dress with beautiful shades of gray and satin as my color inspiration. To create the soft but colorful eye look, I blended silvery colors across the eye and then opened up the eyes by using COVERGIRL Liquiline Blast in Silver Spark close to the top and bottom lash line. I used the darker colors on the outside of the eye lid and then the lighter, silver colors in the inside, using COVERGIRL SmokyShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke to bring out the silver shades of her dress. I then curled the lashes (10 second hold on each eye) and added stunning volume with COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume in Very Black.”

NICOLE KIDMAN’S CHEEKS AND LIPS

WHO: Makeup Artist Angela Levin

HOW: “For her lips we chose CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Magnolia. Then I used the same shade of lip colour on her cheeks, dabbing the shade on the apples of her cheeks with my finger. One of my favorite red carpet beauty tricks!”

HAILEE STEINFELD’S PRETTY IN PINK

WHO: Makeup Artist Stephen Sollitto

HOW: “Hailee’s whole look was inspired by one pale pink shade of shadow in CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Mystic Eyes. The word ‘ballerina’ came to my mind when I saw this shade. I applied a veil of CHANEL Professional Eye Shadow Base in Beige all over her lid. At the lash line only I used CHANEL Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Cassis. I went over this line to blend it out and soften its edges with the deep plum shade in CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Kaska Beige. To offset the pink and deep plum and to pop the gold in her eyes, underneath the bottom lashes I used the gold in the same palette. I used a pliable brush to apply so the line was full under her lashes for some definition yet a softness to her eye. I then topped off her lashes with CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir.”
