Glam Slam: Makeup Mondays — Emmy Trends

We are just days away from the 61st annual Emmy Awards this Sunday. Makeup artist Tina Turnbow, who is creating nominee Mary-Louise Parker’s Emmy beauty look, predicts that celebs will take color risks on the red carpet – both in their dress and their makeup.

Look for bright, colorful eye makeup paired with full, flirty lashes and healthy, fresh skin. Celeb makeup artist, Joanna Schlip, who is doing nominee Christina Applegate for the big day, agrees that perfect skin is key and thinks bold lips will be making a statement this year.

Of course, these looks aren’t limited to the red carpet. The ladies reveal their tips so you can try them out yourself.

TREND: FLAWLESS SKIN
Get the Look: “The key to flawless skin is to use great products leading up to the event,” says Joanna. “I love Clarins new Multi-Active Day moisturizer to keep skin hydrated and smooth,” she reveals. “The day of, I apply Clarins Beauty Flash Balm to firm skin and add radiance. It creates a perfect canvas for Clarins True Radiance Foundation.”

TREND: BOLD LIPS
Get the Look: “If you have full lips like Christina, a bold lip color is a great way to make them stand out on the red carpet. Clarins Joli Rouge in Clarins Red is the perfect shade for a blonde like Christina,” according to Joanna.

TREND: COLORFUL, FLIRTY EYES
Get The Look: “Mary-Louise loves jewel tones,” according to Tina, “so I like to play up her eyes with Maybelline New York Expert Wear Stylish Smokes in Amethyst Smokes. The deep purples complement her dark eyes and hair. For long, flirty lashes, Maybelline New York Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length Mascara in Very Black adds extra drama.”

TREND: FLUSHED, HEALTHY SKIN
Get the Look: “Mary-Louise has beautiful porcelain skin, so a creamy liquid foundation is best,” reveals Tina. “Maybelline New York Dream Liquid Mousse evens the complexion with an airbrushed natural finish. For flushed, pink cheeks, I apply Maybelline New York Expert Wear Blush in Pinch O Pink on the apple of the cheeks.”
