Glam Slam: Makeup Mondays — The Kim Kardashian Edition

For someone who has cameras following her every move, you would think we would see Kim Kardashian having a bad hair or makeup day at least once in a blue moon. But no, she almost always looks perfect!

Part of that camera-ready gorgeousness is thanks to celebrity makeup artist, Nick Barose, who has also worked with Brooke Shields and Winona Ryder. He created the luminous makeup you see here and reveals his step-by-step tips for doing it yourself.

To create Kim’s look, I paired sultry, smoky eyes with glowing, sun-kissed skin and a luscious nude pout. I started by prepping her skin with Guerlain’s Lingerie de Peau Foundation, using a foundation brush to apply it all over and then taking a dampened makeup sponge to blend it in further and smooth everything for that truly flawless look. With a powder brush, I dusted NARS Loose Powder all over and a bit more on her T-zone to prevent shine. To add a natural looking glow, I dusted a golden-toned powder bronzer (Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder in shade #3) around the perimeter of her face and on her cheeks.

Brow pencils are the key to defining the brows and adding a great arch to the shape. I used Dior’s Powder Brow Pencil to fill in Kim’s brows. Next, I lined her upper lash lines with Lancome’s black liquid liner and then switched to a black pencil liner to line along the lower lashes and inside the rims (Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil). I added Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow palette in shade 001, using its shimmery black-toned eyeshadows on Kim’s lids and along her lower lash lines and then smudged it along upper lids, winging it out a little. To finish off the bold eye look, I used two coats of Guerlain’s Le 2 Mascara on both the upper and lower lashes, adding more on the outer corners to accentuate the almond shape of her eyes.

Getting back to that glowing skin for a moment, I then used an angled blush brush to dust a bronzy, peachy-toned blush just along the cheek bones (try NARS blush in Orgasm).

The lips are the final touch and used Kanebo’s Sensai Lipliner Pencil in #106 to line Kim’s lips before adding a peachy gloss on top. I used LipFusion’s Color Shine in Fresh and I always apply a little more in the center of the lips for more shine and a more luscious, fuller-looking lip.
