Glam Slam: One Stop Mommy & Me Shopping

Any mom knows it’s hard to shop with kids in tow. So the best stores (and websites) for me are the ones that sell clothes for both me and my daughter… one stop shopping. Here are a few favorites in all price ranges.

$

Forever 21

The cheap chic chain recently started selling kids clothes featuring graphic tees, beaded tanks, leggings, rompers and on-trend denim at very affordable prices, which is perfect since kids grow out of their clothes so fast! From $2.90 to $22.90. www.forever21.com

H&M

Where else can you get metallic fuchsia shoes for your little one for just $6.99? H&M packs a lot of style for the money. From sweater vests I coveted for myself to peasant shirts and jeans, I’ve gotten some really cute things that look far more expensive than they are. Sizes 0-14. Prices from $2.95. www.hm.com

Target

This one is a no brainer… truly a one stop shop for EVERYTHING! Who doesn’t walk into Target for toothpaste and walk out with two cartloads of stuff you don’t really need! I was so excited for the Liberty of London collection for myself, but then when I saw the kids clothes, I got one of every outfit they had for my daughter. Prices from $3.50 to $16.99. www.target.com

Baby Gap/GapKids & Gap

Whether it be jeans or tanks, I love basics at the Gap for myself and their comfy jeans and leggings for babies are great too. I have actually bought a couple of things from the Stella McCartney for GapKids collection for myself, squeezing into the largest size, a girls 16. (Gwyneth Paltrow is a fan of pal Stella’s line and Suri Cruise was just photographed in an adorable Gap dress.) Prices start at $10. Sizes 0-16 available at Baby Gap, GapKids and online at www.gap.com

77kids at American Eagle Outfitters

Gladiator sandals or fringe Minnetonka suede boots for your toddler? You bet! Lots of cute Summer casual wear for boys and girls. (Celeb moms Halle Berry, Nicole Richie and Jessica Alba are fans.) Available in toddler sizes 2-5 and kids sizes 6-12, which you can get online. Five 77kids stores are opening in July, when the company also launches its baby line, Little 77 in sizes 0-2. Prices from $12.50. www.77kids.com

Zara

Is your mini-me a total trendsetter like mom? Then Zara is for you, selling everything from pint-sized trenches to faux leather vests to strappy sandals and stylish scarves! Sizes 2-14, prices from $6.90 to $59.90. www.zara.com

Crewcuts & J.Crew

Sarah Jessica Parker, Katie Holmes and of course, the Obama girls are fans of Crewcuts and each time I am in there, I want to buy everything for myself! Some things are so adorable I ask myself, “Why don’t they make this in big girl sizes?” All the ruffles, florals, stripes, cardigans and jewelry you love for yourself are there in sizes 2-14. Prices start at $3 and go up to $200 for specialty items. www.jcrew.com

Kid By Phillip Lim and 3.1 Phillip Lim

I can’t afford the clothes for myself, much less the children’s clothes, but wow, this is a beautiful line for kids… so stylish and classic. The folks at Barneys New York are very naughty. The kids department is just a couple of steps from Phillip’s ladies line, so it’s nearly impossible NOT to check it out! Prices range from $75 to $750. http://www.31philliplim.com/

Marc Jacobs and Little Marc by Marc Jacobs

I’m a big fan of the Marc by Marc Jacobs line, which is quirky and bright and colorful and fun… and those same qualities carry over to his kids collection, Little Marc by Marc Jacobs. Dresses featuring signature Marc prints and military style jackets are standouts. From newborns to age 12. Prices from $42 to $280. www.saksfifthavenue.com
