Glam Slam: SAG Style Takes A ‘Plunge’

“How low can you go?” seems to have been the big question at the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards last night.

Eva Longoria dared to bare in a greige Georges Hobeika Spring 2011 Couture gown with neckline that plunged all the way down to her waist.

“I’m going to catch heat for it, I got a feeling I’m going to catch some heat,” Julie Bowen said of her low-cut black halter Malandrino jumpsuit, while her “Modern Family” co-star Sofia Vergara had ME worrying about a possible fashion disaster with her sexy sapphire number and admits even she was nervous about the gown being too much.

“It’s Cavalli, it’s a little bit sexy, I was a little bit afraid but you know, it’s nice. No? It was too sexy. So there’s a thin line for me to look a little bit crazy, so I get scared sometimes.”

Even the more demure Lea Michele rocked a revealing Oscar de la Renta white beaded gown, which looked amazing on her, btw.

GORGEOUS MOMMIES-TO-BE
“I put it on and it just fit, I was like, is this actually maternity? And they were like, no that’s a normal gown! And it just happens to fit right, so it’s kind of exciting.” Natalie Portman really nailed it with her white Azzaro gown with crystal trim. Loved that she showed off her baby bump for the first time on the red carpet in the flattering and form-fitting gown. Pregnant Jane Krakowski also looked radiant. “I’m wearing Badgley Mischka and they have been so wonderful to dress me during my pregnancy for both the Golden Globe awards and for the SAG Awards,” she told us. I think it’s really nice to have designers like Badgley Mischka who will make them for you. It’s nice that they can keep measuring and then making new things for me.”

GOT IT RIGHT…
Julianna Margulies looked beautiful in a simple red strapless YSL gown.
Mila Kunis stunned in her flowy red floral Alexander McQueen.
“True Grit” nominee Hailee Steinfeld kept things fun and age appropriate with her Prada magenta, black and tangerine striped dress with a flounced hem.
Hilary Swank showed off her super-toned body in a blush one shouldered Versace with jeweled detailing.

GOT IT WRONG…
Nicole Kidman in a black Nina Ricci with lace details that was too busy.
Angie Harmon in an over the top feathered ball gown by Monique Lhuillier.
Winona Ryder wearing what looked like a big white prom dress.
Kim Kardashian’s purple Marchesa was a rare misstep for the trendsetter.
January Jones in a black and gold lace Carolina Herrera, which looked too old for her.
Jane Lynch in a pouffy lavender gown.
Kate Mara in a blush colored corset top gown, which washed her out.
Helena Bonham Carter, of course makes the worst dressed list, however her white and black dress was a huge improvement over her Golden Globes ensemble.
