I bought a skirt! Yes, the girl who wears pants 24/7 bought a skirt! I always talk about wanting to wear more skirts and dresses and dressing in a more feminine style like Taylor Swift and Reese Witherspoon, but in reality I haven’t bought a skirt in three years. Maybe longer.

I wear jeans almost every day, so I have a large denim wardrobe, but I really need to branch out and break out of my comfort zone. Or is that a style rut?

I have a hard time finding skirts and dresses that fit though, because I have a small waist and big hips, so I only own a couple of them.

So imagine my surprise when I found a skirt that I liked AND it fit. I got it at Anthropologie. I am loving all the digital prints that are out for spring and summer and my skirt is a “photo” of a tropical sunset. A weird choice for my first skirt purchase—you’d think it would be something more practical, like basic black.

Which makes this skirt a challenge. I’m not even sure what to wear with it! It’s obviously something very trendy with a short shelf life, so I feel a little guilty spending money on it.

On the other hand, the skirt is just plain fun and playful – which makes it perfect for the summer. Sold!
