Glam Slam: Summer’s Golden Glow

Eva Longoria Parker has it. So does Jennifer Lopez, of course. Want that sun kissed look without actually going out in the sun? Stila’s Key Pro Artist Sarah Lucero, who has worked with Carrie Underwood, Paris Hilton and Brooke Shields shows you how.

“All you need is 5 simple products to create your perfect Summer glow,” Sarah says.

WHAT: Bronzing Moisturizer
Sarah recommends Bronzing Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15 to even out skin tone. “Stila’s formula contains 24kt gold, so it not only makes your skin glow it also helps protect and heal your skin with antioxidants.”

HOW TO: “Apply a dime size amount of product with fingertips onto the skin. Start in the center of the face and blend into cheek and jaw line. It should go on edgeless and undetectable. Use a foundation brush for a sheer application and to layer product in certain areas like nose and chin. I prefer a synthetic brush since it is meant to work with cream products and allows a smooth and clean application.”

WHAT: Bronzing Powder
Stila’s Loose Mineral Bronzer sets makeup and adds glow and warmth to the skin. “I love this loose powder because it gives you the perfect amount of shimmer to highlight great cheekbones.”

HOW TO: “Use a small amount of loose bronzer with a large fluffy powder brush. The softer and bigger the brush, the more natural application. The tighter and smaller the brush, the more dramatic and contoured look you will get. Start the application on the forehead and hit the high planes of the face, cheekbone, bridge of nose and even the crease of the eyelid. A great tip if you have fair skin, dip your powder brush into your sheer natural pressed powder first and then dip the brush into the bronzer – this will dilute the application and allow you to slowly build the product to get the desired level of color.”

WHAT: Lip and Cheek Stain
“I recommend using Stila’s Mango Crush Lip & Cheek Stain. It’s the most amazing shade of coral with shimmer to add a flush of youth to the cheeks and you can double it as a coral lip stain.” Sarah says, “It’s my Summer makeup bag must have!”

HOW TO: “Click the pen and get a small amount of Mango Crush onto the brush tip applicator. Smile and apply directly to your cheekbones and lips. This can be layered easily and mixed with any other product. Use your fingertips to blend in if you need to.”

WHAT: Eye Shadow
“To maximize your eyes, try a shadow palette with 4 shades to create multiple looks. Look for gold, bronze, teal and plum. Stila’s “Charmed” Eye Shadow Palette is easy to use and blend into many looks.”

HOW TO: “I suggest using a double sided brush like #15 from Stila. This is the only brush you need to create several looks from this palette. Start by using the large end of the brush with the gold shadow all over the lower lid and wrap the shadow under the lower lash line. This will give you a sultry and sexy look. Next apply the deep plum shadow on the corners of the eyes and blend upward into the crease. Use the small end of the brush and dampen it to get an intensified look from the shadow. If you keep the application to the lash line and diffuse and blend up and out, any eye shape will look sultry and so hot for Summer.”

WHAT: Mascara
“Always use waterproof mascara in Summer, especially if you live in a humid climate area and have issues with mascara smearing under your eyes. Lash Visor by Stila is awesome because it’s glossy and really black so your lashes look really long and defined! Plus, the gel base formula helps hold the curl and keep the lashes up all day long.”

HOW TO: “Curl lashes first and apply a couple coats of the mascara. Start at the root of the lashes and wiggle up to ensure every last lash is covered. I like to add more in the center of the eyes to build a “wide” eye look and maximize the lashes. Don’t let the mascara dry between coats, I like when it’s slightly damp when I’m building my layers.”
