Glam Slam: The Great Pumpkin

It’s an annual tradition for our family to spend time at the pumpkin patch — there’s a huge one here that we go to and every year we leave with a wagon full of pumpkins for our girls to decorate the house with.

This year, I may have to steal one of them for myself. The vitamin-rich ingredient has an abundance of skincare benefits. It is rich in vitamin A, which soothes and softens skin, and vitamin C, an antioxidant that helps repair damage caused by free radicals. This ingredient also contains natural enzymes to help dissolve dry skin cells for a brighter and clearer complexion.

Indie Lee, (indielee.com) Founder and CEO of her eponymous eco-friendly body and face skin care collection, has created a DIY at-home pumpkin face mask. Incorporate this powerful seasonal ingredient into your skincare routine with this easy recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp. organic pumpkin puree
  • 4 tbsp. organic honey
  • 1/2 tbsp. Greek yogurt or avocado oil
  • 1 drop of sandalwood essential oil
  • 1 drop of carrot seed oil
  • Dash of pumpkin pie spice (optional)

In a large bowl, mix all of the ingredients until well blended. Cover the mask, and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Apply to face and let sit for 5-10 minutes. Then rinse face with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel.
