Glam Slam: The May It List

I love May.

The weather is awesome, which means we get to wear more of our new summer clothes.

TV is great because of all of the season and series finales (“Desperate Housewives,” Dancing with the Stars,” “American Idol,” “The Voice”), not to mention the fun movies coming our way.

Here are a few ways to enjoy the month!

SUMMER MOVIES START:
Get out your popcorn — summer movies invade theaters this month! Kicks things off with the “The Avengers” on May 4. Scarlett Johansson is surrounded by lots of testosterone thanks to co-stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Samuel L Jackson. Johnny Depp is a vampire in “Dark Shadows” opening May 11. “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” stars Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz, who plays a celebrity dance show contestant (May 18). And Big Willy is back with “Men in Black 3” (May 25).

‘THE BACHELORETTE’:
Fan fave Emily Maynard gets another shot at love with 25 suitors vying for her heart on the eighth season of our favorite guilty pleasure TV show — “The Bachelorette.” Premieres May 14 on ABC.

MOM’S THE WORD:
Don’t forget — Mother’s Day is May 13 and perfume is always a classic can’t-go-wrong gift. Mom-to-be Kristin Cavallari is a fan of Michael Kors Signature Fragrance, so she would probably love Michael Kors Suede Limited Edition Eau de Parfum, which also includes the tuberose flower found in his signature scent. $75 for a 1.7 oz. bottle, available at Bloomingdale’s. Busy Phillips loves Coach and I have a feeling she’d dig Coach Signature Summer Limited Edition Eau de Toilette, a fresh scent perfect for warm weather. $65 for a 1.7 oz. bottle at Macy’s. Victoria Beckham (and I!) are huge fans of Jo Malone and the latest addition to the Malone fragrance family is Jo Malone London Plum Blossom Cologne, a mixture of yellow plum, creamy sandalwood and clean, white musk. $110 for a 100 ml bottle at www.jomalone.com

STYLIN’ READ:
My very stylish friend Melissa Magsaysay has written her first book! I’m so proud of her — it’s called “City of Style” and it looks at Los Angeles’ influence on the style evolution. It includes guides to local stores and gives tips on how to buy and wear key pieces for various LA styles. Way to go Melissa! Out May 22. Available at barnesandnoble.com and amazon.com.

CHEAP CHIC:
Target is famous for its collaborations with high-end designers like Missoni and Jason Wu. Now the chain teams up with several chic boutiques for affordable limited-edition collections. First up, Miami’s hip store, The Webster, which has created a collection of clothing and accessories perfect for summer. The Webster Collection at Target is available online and in stores May 6.
