Glam Slam: ‘Wears’ The Beef?

So, after much speculation yesterday, it was finally revealed that yes, the meat ensemble Lady Gaga wore to the VMAs is actually real meat. Designer Franc Fernandez, who has worked with Gaga before, made the outfit from “real meat from my family butcher.”

As I said yesterday, I am not really shocked by anything Gaga wears these days, I’ve come to expect her to wear something outrageous at this point.

I am, however, pretty grossed out by it though. I mean really!

Was Gaga worried that the meat would spoil? Did they have to keep the dress refrigerated and if so, how did they do that at the VMAs? Did the meat get all over her seat? And how did Cher feel when she hugged Gaga and held her meat purse when presenting her with the Video of the Year Award?

Apparently Cher wasn’t bothered by it at all texting “modern art elicits discussion, introspection & conflict !

Everyone’s talking about it! BINGO! The way it was cut & fitted to her body was AMAZING ! Meat purse was genius ! As Art piece it was astonishing ! No moral Judgement!”

True everyone IS talking about the dress, but unlike Cher, people are judging it. PETA protested the dress. No real surprise there.

We asked our viewers what they thought of the dress and 70 percent of the Access Hollywood Nation voted that it’s “Too much – gross!”

Even some meat experts are getting in on the act. The New York Daily News interviewed two butchers about the dress and they say the meat was of poor quality- all cheaper cuts. At most, the meat was about $100. Meow! Or would that be Moo!

Wouldn’t you love to have been a fly on the wall of the style meeting Gaga and her team had when they came up with the concept? THAT would be hilarious.

The bigger question is, where does she go from here? How does one top a dress made of meat?
