‘Glee’ Boss Admits Paul McCartney A Fan Of Show, Sent Him A Mixtape

“Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy says he thought he was being “punked” when a fan note arrived from Paul McCartney.

But Murphy discovered that the pop legend is indeed an admirer of the hit Fox TV show and wants his music to be part of it. McCartney enclosed a mix of some of his tunes, including “Michelle,” and asked Murphy to consider using them on “Glee.”

Murphy said he was “gobsmacked” by the offer and that he would take McCartney up on it for the series about high school glee club members. Murphy spoke Monday to the Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills.
